Bio
Mariah Montemayor (b.1991) is a film photographer, writer, and painter whose art centers people and subjects often on the peripheries of society. By interrogating the intersections of labor, gender, ecology, and peace—with a meticulous eye for light and composition—Mariah exposes the irrevocably innate dignity in all life on Earth.
After graduating from The University of Iowa in 2016 with a B.A. in Journalism & Mass Communication, Mariah served as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in the Luapula Province of rural Zambia.
